Reading Feedback

As always, I chose my reading selection from what was available readily online. However, I narrowed my selection down from a list of topics and I picked what sounded the most interesting to me. I chose the gods and goddesses as my selection. Originally, I also planned to move on to myths and folklore, but I did not realize that each comic book would take as long as they did to read. Not that they were that long, but it took me longer than just reading through the Mhabaharata or the Ramayana. I am happy with my reading choices because I actually do not mind putting the work into reading them since I feel that they are truly interesting!

I chose this photo because this is where I imagine doing most of my reading, inside by the fireplace. Realistically, I read inside, but underneath a heated blanket and not by a fireplace.

Reading Feedback

I chose this week's reading simply because it was well planned out and I simply had to go and find the comic books to read. I did not understand that each comic book was meant to count as one reading diary post, though, so I ended up posting three in my first reading diary post of the week and it ended up counting for the next few times as well! This was an unexpected blessing! I thought that the comic books were simple and easy to understand and the reading guide was very effective in helping the reader to further understand the stories about the Indian deities.

Reading Feedback

One thing that I really enjoyed about the reading this week was where I read. It was so beautiful this week and such nice weather that I chose to read outside and spend some much-needed time in the sun  in order to relax a little.

Campus really is beautiful this time of year and I encourage everyone to head outdoors before winter is truly upon us!

This week, I continued reading the Kincaid Mahabharata. I really did like the layout of the different stories in comparison to the original Mahabharata that we read. I also appreciated the ending to the Mahabharata a lot more than the Ramayana. It was a much happier ending and you find out exactly what happens to everyone.

Reading Feedback

I feel like it is the same story with me every week, but again, I chose my reading selection based on what was readily accessible and easy to use. The reading this week took me about 2 1/2-3 hours, a little bit longer than last week.

I did not get my reading from Bizzell. In fact, I tend to not use Bizzell a lot this year. I am a Price student so I find that the majority of my time is spent in Price, although I miss studying in Bizzell!

I did most of my studying in Price, so I decided to include a picture of Price Hall itself!

Reading Feedback

Again, I chose my reading for the Mahabharata based on what was already available online. I felt like this epic was more difficult to read than the Ramayana because there seemed to be a lot more going on. I am not sure if that was just my opinion, or if other readers felt this way too.

The reading did come with a reading guide and I felt it to be extremely helpful because of the confusing storyline of the Mahabharata. I spent only about 2 1/2 hours on the reading for the week. It really was not bad at all. This reading is very easily doable as long as you plan out the time when you are going to read and write and such!

Overall, I enjoyed reading the Ramayana better than I have enjoyed reading the Mahabharata thus far, but I will see what is to come in the upcoming weeks!

Reading Feedback

I chose to read the Public Domain Ramayana because honestly, it seemed like the easiest to access online to read. After I started reading, I realized that I actually enjoyed reading it as well. Double bonus!

There was not really a reading guide for this version of the Ramayana besides the fact that parts A and B were split up equally. I took my time and read both. I would say both A and B probably took me about and hour to read each, so two hours total. I am a pretty fast reader and when I put my mind to something, I can accomplish it fairly quickly usually.
